1. Engaging with your congregation and

2. Reaching the new people

All these can be done through Facebook, and the amazing thing is that Facebook is very easy to use. U won’t have to be a pro in the digital world before your church can have an online presence and reach many with the gospel.

Did you know Facebook has over 2 billion users? In fact, according to Facebook, over 60% of all people in every age demographic are on Facebook.

 88% of people ages 18-29

84% of people ages 30-49 etc

This means Facebook is one of the best ways your church can reach out and connect with people online.

So, Are you trying to reach young people?

Looking for new families to join your church?

Want to engage with boomers and the elderly population?

No matter who your church is trying to reach, chances are they’re on Facebook.

TWO STEPS TO GROW YOUR CHURCH FB PLATFORM

1. THE FIRST STEP TO BUILD YOUR CHURCH FACEBOOK PRESENCE is

First, set up your personal or church profile for success and get it running.

Your personal profile speaks a lot about you to people who might want to join your church’s FB page, and studies show that people are more likely to know about the man behind the wheel before considering joining your page.

-upload profile picture

-upload a cover photo

-fill in the section

-Add your contact number and church address (if possible)

-add links that lead to your church’s Facebook page.

If your profile is active on posting and commenting  (adding value), you have a good chance of reaching people who aren’t already aware of your church.

2. SECOND STEP – one of the best ways for your church to engage the community is to establish a space where dialogue is encouraged.

Facebook page is good in a way because the community will provide much of your content by starting conversations – posting pictures – and responding to each other.

For example, you post a picture of your church picnic on the church’s FB page, and people can comment.

                                   TIPS YOU CAN USE

So here are some good tips to grow your Facebook.

1. Share weekly sermons and recordings

2. Ask conversation-starting questions based on this week’s sermon.

3. Respond to conversations when you have something value to add

4. Post pictures from recent church events (smiling faces are always good)

5. Share prayer request

6. Post announcements for upcoming church events

7. Go live on Facebook as much as you can. Share it on the church page and ask people to comment and share!

With these tips, you will have good engagement but also leave room for new voices to join. Don’t be shy by interacting with other like-minded local organisations by commenting on their photos –  Liking their event  – and sharing their post.

By doing all these, you can expand, grow, and reach beyond just those who have already come into your church and to those who might in the future.

That’s it!
