Adetayo Adebowale
Hi, I’m Adetayo Adebowale
MY PURPOSE
Do you feel overwhelmed by life’s challenges and uncertainties? Perhaps you’re struggling to find peace and purpose amidst the chaos. I’ve been there. My journey through trials and triumphs has given me a profound passion for guiding others toward spiritual growth and fulfilment. My purpose is to equip aspiring ministry leaders with the right tools, support, and mentorship they need to navigate their calling and thrive in their faith journey.
MY TESTIMONY
I was born into a religious family, but my life took a difficult turn when my father passed away before I turned one. Growing up with three brothers and a sister, my mother faced the immense burden of raising us alone. To ease her load, I lived with various family members, which exposed me to hardship, abuse, and intolerance. I became a bitter, angry, and frustrated child, struggling to understand why I had lost my father and feeling the pain of his absence deeply.
School became my escape from the turmoil at home. One Friday, I stayed behind for a Christian fellowship service, drawn by the music. That day marked the beginning of God’s work in my life. A teacher spoke about God’s love, and during the altar call, I found myself at the front, praying the salvation prayer. That moment changed everything. God replaced my fear, bitterness, and anger with overwhelming joy, a joy that has stayed with me ever since.
THE STRUGGLES AND THE CALL
After my salvation, I eagerly shared my experience with friends and anyone who would listen. I also developed a passion for playing the bass guitar in my local church. However, as I grew older, I drifted into the wrong crowd, indulging in drinking, womanising, and occult practices, which led to a deepening sense of emptiness and suicidal thoughts. The lowest point came when I attempted to take my life, but God intervened, speaking to me and offering help. From that moment, God’s love never left me, breaking the chains of addiction.
In 2010, I moved to South Africa, where I dedicated myself fully to ministry. Serving under different church leaders exposed me to the harsh realities faced by young aspiring pastors. Many leaders were exploitative and unsupportive, leading me to understand the profound need for genuine mentorship and guidance. Despite these challenges, I learned how to leave ministries on good terms, gaining wisdom and resilience.
MY FAMILY
I always desired to marry early, but my journey took a different path. In a church where singles were often seen as irresponsible, the pressure to marry was immense. After several failed relationships, I decided to focus solely on God and my ministry. Romans 8:28 became my anchor: “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” In 2015, I met Anarhlia Adebowale at a conference, and two years later, we married. Today, we are blessed with three beautiful daughters – Adehlia, Adeana, and Adelh.
MINISTRY GUIDES IS BORN
After our wedding in 2017, we faced a significant setback when we couldn’t secure a work visa to stay in South Africa, leading us to relocate to Nigeria. This move brought severe trials, including financial hardship and abandonment by those who promised to help. Despite the adversity, God used this period to inspire me to start Ministry Guides, a platform to equip, empower, support, and mentor young people called to ministry.
In 2019, we relocated to Australia, where God has continued to use us within the church community. My vision for Ministry Guides is to become the go-to resource for all things related to ministry work, prioritising mentorship, support, spiritual covering, and connections. From new converts to church planters, evangelists, apostles, teachers, and prophets, our aim is to see every child of God actively working to depopulate the kingdom of darkness.
My life experiences, struggles, and victories testify that God is always with you, no matter the challenges you face. Victory is certain in Christ Jesus if you have faith!
